Many thanks to everyone who attended the Ray Vega Jazz Show yesterday. It was a fantastic afternoon raising $3,500 for The Sam Roberts Family Fund.
Ray Vega played for over 2 hours alongside iconic Adelaide Jazz sextet The Fergusons.
Joining Ray Vega on the line-up were Pembroke School's Big Band and nationally acclaimed Jazz choir. Cameo performances were also made by Adelaide's "Aretha" Jacquie Yeo, and duet Carl Salt and Alex Tito.
Poignantly, during the show, a beautiful speech was given by Paediatric Palliative Care Art Therapist, Ms Bel Ryan, who conveyed her appreciation of the support The Sam Roberts Family Fund has provided to the mums, dads and siblings she works with.
Ray Vega, a musician in residence for one week only at Pembroke School, is from The Bronx, New York. He has played his trumpet around the world, including touring with world famous Jazz musician Tito Puento.
On behalf of Cycle 4 Sam we would like to thank Pembroke School, in particular Music Director Mr Darryl Pope, for making this event possible and to Ray Vega, The Fergusons, the Pembroke Big Band and Jazz Choir, Jacquie Yeo, Carl Salt and Alex Tito for their stunning performances and for freely giving of their time and talents.
The money raised will directly support projects in Paediatric Palliative Care at the Women's and Children's Hospital.
